so maybe this wasn’t the best idea he’d ever had. katherine pierce wasn’t exactly an unknown name, & he knew plenty about her; just like any good hunter would. but there was something about her that made him want to ignore her reputation, to get to know her despite the warnings he’d heard for years. maybe that was part of her allure, part of what made people fall for her tricks— but he wouldn’t know until he tried. he chuc- kled a little at that.

he knew that for a while, part of him would still be tense around her. part of him still wouldn’t trust her, & not just because of who or what she was. sam’s history wasn’t exactly in their favor, telling him that she was just going to use him up & dump him when she was done. still, he couldn’t seem to stop talking to her.

she had always been the person people could blame for the wrong that happened. most of the time she didn't really care because; well, katherine pierce didn't care for many people. also times when it wasn't her doing, it was like a bonus. but it was also tiering. always getting the blame for something she didn't have a finger in on.

❝ guess not...but since we're...on the topic... how about you? tragic backstory with a even more tragic future? ❞ katherine looked at him for a second before she reached over and behind the bar to find the bottle the bartender had left behind a few moments before. she poured her glass a little under half full and then sat the bottle down. a small grin formed on her lips before she took a small sip off of her glass; dark hues wandering over to his bigger frame.
