Will Rio+20 UN Summit be a wasted opportunity?
The Regeneration Project surveyed 642 experts in sustainability from business, NGOs, academia and government in 77 countries. According to the polls majority (%57) sees the Summit (June 20-22, 2012) as a vital opportunity to make a significant progress in sustainable development, however only %13 thinks it will manage to achieve this. Most experts think there is no clear agenda for the summit (%20) and they do not believe that key decision-makers will attend (%35). Briefly, the survey concluded that green economy and institutional framework are the right themes for the conference however most think the conference will not be successful in making progress in terms of transition to sustainable development.
A total of 642 experts were surveyed online between December 2 and December 19, 2011.
