appreciating all the people out there who aren't repeating past mistakes by demonizing the female characters of reanimal in the way people did six. i'm so glad y'all actually have the literacy skills to understand the type of message reanimal is trying to send rather than looking past it and reading the girls in black and white.
i stopped interacting with the little nightmares fandom a few years ago (still remains my like, #1 special interest though lmao) primarily due to the fact people were very, very immature and took every opportunity to paint six, a nine year old girl, as some sort of evil, insane monster. genuinely cant describe how angry that makes me lmao
thank you to all the folks who are not demonizing hood, or sister for that matter. it is the bare minimum, but i appreciate it anyway <333 it is so rare when, in media, girls are allowed to diverge from the 'sweet, innocent' caricatures they are expected to present. no, hood may not be outwardly kind, and she may have been the one to carry out sister's death, but i firmly believe she is not evil or as incredibly harsh as some people write her. i believe that for a child, the way she acts is a very normal trauma response (one i relate to) and she shouldn't catch so much flack for it.
like with six, she was nine years old. she made very human decisions considering her mindset, environment, and everything she had been through. everyone loved her until the end of ln2, which apparently solidified her as an irredeemable monster. guys lock in 😭😭
female characters are visibly treated so unfairly, even now. they are not treated as if they have the same emotional spectrum as male characters, and as if they are invalid for making decisions any male character likely would have. so so tired of this double standard because it makes absolutely no sense
i have a lot of hope for the reanimal fandom just based on how quickly we're catching and calling out these issues as they happen. hugs <3
