Magic//Regina & Scout Flashback

Scout had been happy spending all this time with her family, but something happened. It had been three days since she first felt it. Her magic. She knew that it was a possibility that she could have magic like her mother and aunt, but it didn’t change the fact that Scout was a little terrified. She hasn’t told anyone yet about her magic as there’s a part of her that’s scared to which is crazy because she knows that her family wouldn’t love her any less and she knows that they will help her through this. Scout couldn’t help this nagging feeling that something could go wrong, like maybe she wouldn’t be able to control her powers or what if she became evil? 

Scout knows who her mom and aunt used to be before they started using magic for good. She knows what magic is capable of doing to those in her family and that’s the part that scared her. There may also be some part of her that’s afraid of disappointing her parents. Scout didn’t know what to do, in fact, she even thought about talking to Henry about it so that maybe her brother could give her some advice, but she ultimately decided that she didn’t want to bother him with her problems right now.   

She stood there watching her family for a few more minutes, a small smile on her face. Finally, she decided to walk away, hoping that maybe a walk through the forest will help calm her mind. She didn’t realize that someone had followed her until she heard the rustling of leaves behind her. “Mom” she said as she turned around to discover that her mother was the one who had followed her.

Homecoming - Roni & Chloe

The rain was just beginning to fall when Lo made it to the bar. It felt like she had been walking for hours and her feet were killing her. She was looking forward to peeling them off and kicking back for the night but before that she was going to need to actually find a place. Years ago she and her mother had shared a home right here in town but Lo had no idea what had happened to it since they left. And money was a bit of an issue. She'd spent the last bits of change on her bus journey which meant she couldn't afford to pay for a hotel.

That was where Roni came in. Good old Roni. She'd been on Lo's side from the very beginning. In fact, most of Lo's life decisions had come from Roni one way or another. Roni had made her realise that an education was useless in todays world - all an employer wanted was experience - as well as pointing out just how much stress could kill years off your life. And you only have one. So might as well live like it.

That was Lo's new life moto now. Live Life To The Fullest. Because you only get once chance at it.

Yeah, Roni had always looked out for Lo and helped her. Lo just hoped she was still there. For all she knew, she could have packed up and left by now. Maybe gone to see the world like she had always encouraged Lo to, during their shifts together. Lo hoped not. It would really suck coming back here and being unable to find that familiar friendly face waiting.

Lo hesitated for just a second before she slipped inside through the door. She shivered slightly as she stepped in from the cold wind into the warm air. Not the first time did she feel very bitter about losing most of her wardrobe, which included almost all of her jackets, leaving her only in a silk summer top with half cropped sleeves. Well, a day of shopping was just another thing to add to the list. For now she looked around at the open space. Roni's was almost exactly as she remembered it. Despite her original resistance to come back, Lo felt herself smiling. Out of the whole town, this was the place she missed the most.
