from someone who hasn't gotten into RWBY, is it worth gettin into (even if just for a season or two)? i watched the guys from Man at Arms make Weiss' rapier and it just sorta struck me that the show existed.

As somebody who watches it, I wouldn’t really recommend it, unless you can get past its many faults

You're really roping me into this Fate Grand Order stuff man. I really like the art stuff. I honestly think the last thing I remember of TYPE_MOON was.. Tsukihime and Fate Stay/Night. Holy shit how many years ago was that even? Still can't believe Paul Bunyan is in Fate GO now. What a time to be alive.

well lucky for you, Fate GO USA is restarting it’s Start Dash Campaign! 

that means that new users can get up to 40 Saint Quartz by just completing the tutorial, prologue, and logging in for a week, for a free 10x summon in the Story Gacha for a guaranteed 4-star or above card!

and then once you’re finally roped in you’re stuck in Gacha hell, rerolling for hours on end to get the 4 or 5 Star servants you want until you finally settle on a less than satisfactory team

missions require so much AP from you that you can only ever play a small amount of story missions every couple of hours until you need to wait for it to regenerate, and as your mastery rank goes up, so does the wait time of your AP, going up to literally 11 hours worth of regenerating to get it back up to full. 

Servants don’t level up through battle, you must go into Daily Quests to grind for EXP cards, each difficulty requiring up to 10, 20, 30, and finally 40 AP each. Did I mention that the max AP you can get at the moment is 140?

The ascension materials you need for your Servants have abysmal drop rates in the early stages of FGO, some rarer materials dropping at rates of 3.3% and 0.2%. Others simply don’t exist at all because the levels that hold the enemies that drop them simply aren’t in the game yet, thus one, if not many, of your favorite servants will be stuck for months on end until that level comes out and you get lucky enough to get the materials you need. They can also be found in the Daily Quests as well from Tuesday to Sunday, each day differing with what sort of materials we get for the classes. 

Events and Rate Ups give you a chance to get a either a limited time Servant or a higher chance to roll for a specific Servant you want too! And they have a grand total of a 1% chance to drop for you. Watch in anger as all your friends get these Servants with simply one summoning ticket while you spend up to $60 for a x10 Gacha roll and get nothing but Black Keys Craft Essence despite all the money you sunk into gambling for a chance at a rare servant. 

At the end of the day, though, battling with Servants can be fun! There are only 3 Servants allowed in battle and each Servant has a specific set of 5 cards that range from Quick, Arts, and Buster. 5 Cards are randomly drawn from this pool and you must use strategy to defeat the enemies and upcoming enemies as well! And yet in the two years the game has been out in Japan they still never gave us the option to skip the Noble Phantasms of our Servants.
