In the video above Bondi avoids a question by Whitehouse about Epstein and Trump by accusing Whitehouse (apparently falsely) of "taking money from one of Epstein's closest confidantes.....Reid Hoffman."

WHITEHOUSE: There's been public reporting that Jeffrey Epstein showed people photos of president trump with half naked young women. Do you know if the FBI found those photographs in their search of Jeffrey Epstein’s safe or premises or otherwise? Have you seen any such thing? BONDI: You sit here and make salacious remarks once again trying to slander President Trump left and right when you’re the one who was taking money from one of Epstein’s closest confidants, I believe. I could be wrong, correct me, Reid Hoffman, who was with Jeffrey Epstein on multiple occasions. And the senator sitting right next to you, tried to block the flight logs from being released. Yet, you’re drilling me on President Trump and some photograph with Epstein? Come on.

According to NBC 10 News, Whitehouse later countered Bondi's accusation by saying:

"Contrary to what the Attorney General said multiple times today, nobody by the name of Reid (or Reed) Hoffman has donated to any of my campaigns – not in 2018, not in 2024, not ever," a statement from Whitehouse said.

I love how Whitehouse is undeterred and doesn't take any nonsense from Bondi.

Donald Trump’s Justice Department has launched a new criminal investigation into the woman who accused the president of sexual assault. The investigation, revealed by CNN on Wednesday, aims to probe whether journalist E. Jean Carroll committed perjury during her two civil lawsuits against Trump. Carroll’s two successful lawsuits resulted in a combined $88.3 million in damages. One case alleged Trump sexually abused Carroll in a New York department store in the mid 1990s, which he denied. The other claimed Trump defamed her when he denied the assault in 2019. Trump claimed Carroll was not his type and that she fabricated the assault to boost book sales.

The perjury probe is based on a 2022 deposition by Carroll, in which she stated that she received no external funding for her lawsuit. It was later revealed that some legal fees and expenses had been covered by billionaire Reid Hoffman.

[...] Paula Reid, a CNN journalist who broke the story, told Erin Burnett on OutFront on Wednesday that the judge overseeing the 2022 case said that “there were no issues” with Carroll’s credibility. The judge “blocked Trump lawyers from asking about this at trial,” Reid added. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche has recused himself from the case, according to Reid, due to the fact that he worked on one of the appeals related to Carroll’s case. The case is currently being handled out of the U.S. Attorney’s office in Chicago.
