My favorite flower

A/N: Just another quick little thing I had hit me. It’s probably not that good but I wanted to write it out so here it is. Rei belongs to luobuo!

“Rei, which flowers are these?” Asked his sweet Rubes as she pointed at one of the several bundles of flowers. Rei stopped arranging the vase of flowers he was currently working on to come see what his sweet heart was talking about. When he came to her side and saw which one’s she was looking at, a light smile formed on his face. “Those are Amaryllis flowers Rubes.” he answered her inquiry. She looked at the flower in admiration, her angelic eyes wide as she took in the flowers appearance.

“Is it okay if I touch one?” she asked as she turned to look at him. “Of course.” he assured her with a gentle smile. She mirrored his smile before she reached out a small hand and touched the delicate flower as gently as she could. “It’s so beautiful...” she spoke in a soft whisper. Watching her interact with the flower in such a way, Reimund couldn’t wipe his smile away from his face. “Do you know the meaning behind the flower?” he asked her this time. She shook her head at his question before she looked to him once more. “No, what does it mean?” she asked with a small raise of her brow.

“Splendid beauty.” he answered as he placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. She smiled at him lovingly as she placed her hand on top of his. “You look like you really like those flowers...you can have one if you like Rubes.” he told her as he gave her shoulder a gentle squeeze. “R-Really?” She gasped softly, a huge smile spreading across her face. “Of course you can!” he chuckled before removing the flower from the vase and handing it to her. “Oh, thank you Rei!” she said as she held the flower close to her. “It’s so beautiful.” she said as she looked at the flower and then to him. “I’m glad this made you happy...it’s the least I can do for you.” he said before he received a kiss on the cheek.

It was an unexpected gesture for him, and it indeed caught him off guard, but the feathery brush of her lips against his cheek always made him feel good on the inside. “Ah Ruby, du bist so süss mein Liebling.” he said as he averted his gaze bashfully, a demure smile on his face as he bit his lower lip. “Me encanta cuando hablas alemán mi amor.” she replied with a pretty smile as she lowered herself from her toes. “I do have one last question though.” she said as she looked to him with a curious expression. “Yes?” he responded with a small tilt of his head. “What’s your favorite flower Rei?”

Indeed, that was a good question, but the answer was very simple. Rei tapped his chin and hummed softly before he got closer to her and kissed her temple softly. “My favorite flower is a rose...not just any rose, but the rose that I got to kiss just now.” This time, Ruby blushed, a giddy smile on her face. She was quite sure he didn’t understand the big deal behind what he said, but it was so sweet of him--ah, she just couldn’t help it. “Oh you~!” she giggled softly before she cupped his face in her baby hands and kissed him again, leaving him dazed and herself a blushing mess.
