 ’ - i don’t think you understand that the last time i was trying to do some good, and to help someone, was for me. i guess trying to keep yourself from getting wiped from existence is a BAD thing to do now. but if it was barry, or some other ’ hero ’ it wouldnt be a problem. ’

She did know that and she rolled her eyes at his dramatics.  Millenia of god-posturing couldn’t take the theater kid out of Barry Allen or his speed double.  “You’re neglecting the fact that none of the other heroes would have tried to take someone elses life to secure their own existence.”  She crossed her arms with a tight shrug.  “They would’ve tried to find another way.  Asked for help.”  She half-nodded.  “Which I mean, you did get Frost on your side, so you kind of did that I guess, so I mean you didn’t completely abandon the how to manual but still the whole try to find a better way part of the plan is really key here.”  She gestured with a hand as she started to ramble.

                     ‘ he is …… frightening. ’ his voice is husky and vibrating. a wide grin split across his face in electrifying thrill, ‘ he is powerful, smart, intense. he defies expectations and rationales. his existence alone is a paradox. he is  ANCIENT. the oldest conundrum known to man. you can’t define him;  he exposes the limitation of our understanding … of time, of existence, of morality, of self-realization — his life is an exceptional momentum to REALIZE himself !!  he’s mysterious … yet so SIMPLE . he doesn’t know how magnificent he is. he doesn’t see himself through my eyes. i’ve never seen anything so elegant, anyone so … beautiful. so out of this world beautiful he makes you tremble in your skins. ’

    but that is not the only reason you are scared, is it, nygma?   the riddler sucked in a sharp breath to break the spell that had him lost in his own thoughts. ‘ … he … protects me. he’s nice to me. we — i don’t know what we are. what we will be after i help him achieve his goal. i’m afraid it doesn’t matter … i’m afraid i want to get him everything he ever wants, and he will make a fool out of me …   and that will destroy me. ’

he's here to bother him. maybe try and get his attention. because he wants his attention. i mean - what. he's not staring.

sits by the light reading a book. an usual nighttime activity when he’s not manically conspiring schemes and riddles. engrossed in the words on paper, he reaches for the cup of tea on the coffee table. his hand brushes against the other’s thigh.

‘ oh —- sorry. ’ he looks up, smiles at the speedster next to him.

they didn’t mind being used. nor did they care about who was before them there was no savitar on their world - they didn’t know the chain of events that caused specific actions to happen. no, all that they knew was that savitar was powerful. very powerful and that was something they could use; should one of their brothers decide to come after them. and should that happen? there was no doubt in their mind they’d be dragged back into the knights. just like dawnbreaker would eventually be. 

 however, for now, they didn’t feel that it was necessary to think about. no, if they were found out, if they were dragged back? they’d deal with it. they’d deal with it because they had no other choice, but to deal with it - just like they always did. together.  

‘ would it really matter if he did? ’

he took a step forward. ‘ you see, he was against such a thing, but the world was dying. the only way to stop things was to go back in time. to...change the past. seems that we both made a few mistakes back then. ’

   even gods needed protection; thawne may have hated barry allen, but this one? this one could at least stand to be around. a simple twist of fate - even if he knew this could indeed backfire on him. to be around a speedster always came with an amount of risk. sometimes, it was low, but other times? it was high. he learned that time and time again, but for now, the risk factor was advisable - if savitar wanted to be the god of speed? fine. he could accept that. it was simply the way of change and how things would eventually be. what it didn’t mean was that eobard couldn’t do something. perhaps, it was to protect savitar, or maybe just gain some favor. either way? the next five words came out of his mouth calmly - almost a bit too calmly and cold, but he meant them. 

   ‘ protecting the god of speed. ’
