He was lonely and she was new in town.
Freshly moved from Cincinnati, Ohio, Margaret was out and exploring the whereabouts of her new town. The Mystery Shack was among the last places she set foot in before marking all of Gravity Falls’ attractions as checked. It was coincidental that Ford Pines was in the shop at the same time as her and the fact that they hit it off quite well inspired Mabel to try and play matchmaker. Ford could use a girlfriend and Margaret felt like the BEST option out there. She seemed pretty interested in him. Not to mention that she looked pretty good for a woman pushing 60′s.
Mabel had a plan. But first, she needed to know EVERYTHING about her. Like, whether she’s married, has kids, or what her favourite flowers were. She needed an information broker.
Swift footsteps tapped against the marble floor of the building’s lobby as brown eyes hunted for the name Bill Cipher at each door. It dawned on her that she might’ve searched the wrong building, feet coming slowly to a halt as her worried frown skimmed the hallway. She would’ve turned to leave if she hadn’t spotted from the corner of her eyes the glimmering golden board with his name encrypted in bold and black letters. Her ever growing excitement made her want to barge through the door, but she needed to stay composed if she wanted to make a good impression. Inhaling deeply in her lungs, she walked to the door and knocked a funky tune on the wood. Having been given his approval to enter, she cracked the door open and timidly poked her head inside.
✩ [ – Hello? I’m looking for... ]
She swayed her upper body back, head tilting as her narrowed eyes read his name again. She already knew whom she was looking for, but she didn’t want to butcher his name. Better double check than offend him.
✩ [ – Biiiill... Cipher? ]
