Dear Non-Florida Friends:
This is an #Irma FAQ irt my (and my roommates) situation as Florida residents.
1. Are you safe?
Yep! We're both pretty well inland, and we live in a concrete building. The worst we're expecting to get is, possibly, some flooding. We'll keep you updated on that.
2. Can I help?
Sure! You can donate to any charity of your choice, except the Red Cross, please don't donate to them, they're awful.
Please make sure that you pay attention to charities that focus on the Caribbean relief effort, because the islands could seriously use the help.
3. Are you ready?
Yep! We've got water and food. We have a gas stove and all of our devices are charged and ready, just in case we lose power so we can keep you guys updated on our status.
4. Are you evacuating?
We...really can't, even if we wanted to. Nowhere to go, plus lack of transportation kind of keeps us here. The likelihood of *needing* to evacuate our town is really low. My job is only closing for Sunday, and hasn't decided about Monday yet.
