they um give the eigenvalues for solutions to the schrodinger equation for each energy level. so if you want the eigenvalue for the next energy level up, a+. next down, a-. check out griffiths p.46! [2.61]

thanks, though! I think I get the harmonic oscillator ones, it’s the angular momentum ones I’m not so sure on. working those out currently.

Not sure if intentional or not: The hover color for the Ask link is the same as the normal color, instead of teal.

Yeah, I have no idea what’s up with the hover color on the links. It’s supposed to apply to the whole thing, but it only works correctly on the sidebar elements about 30% of the time. I played around with it for a while and couldn’t figure anything out… If I really can’t fix it I’m going to go through and do it inline, but I don’t want to yet.
