I could find dirt on you from 10 years ago, you could find dirt on ME from 10 years ago.
Even if you think you're the most progressive unproblematic person on earth who's never made a social sin in your life, one day you WILL do something you didn't intend to be bad and EVERYONE will take it the wrong way.
Politics will CHANGE. Remember when Harry Potter was the liberal anthem? Remember when 5 years ago "Nazi" was everyone's go-to "bad thing to call someone you don't like"? And now the loud majority says the bad thing is "Zionist" and those SAME people are saying "Mustache man was right and we should reconsider his position" in BROAD DAYLIGHT.
THIS is why we don't care anymore.
Not because "We're white so it doesn't affect us"
It's because we've been hearing The Boy Cry Wolf for the last decade and decided we're tired of giving him attention.
