The Iron Lady (2011) 5/6 A really strong, and moving film that I was surprised I enjoyed as much as I did. But it was fascinating to watch and see from the Thatcher point of view, since most of the time these days all you hear about is ohow horrible she was. Of course the things she did were still quite awful, and she did come off as a bitch, but it showed that she believed her intentions were good, as most do, I'm sure. Meryl gives a solid performance in this. And ugh Harry Lloyd. Not enough him at all.

From Up On Poppy Hill (2011) 6/6 Well let me start off with saying that the music in this is absolutely fantastic and it probably has the best soundtrack for a Ghibli flick I've heard to date? Especially with the repeated playing of Sukiaki which is one of my favourite songs of all time. But yes. I think this has probably shot up to being my favourite Ghibli all around because just A+ and I love that it's definitely not aimed at kids because of the theming and oh lord the theming i don't want to say anything since it's still newish but i was not expecting that at all.
