OK, so it’s been forever since I’ve done one of these, but I thought that I should since I was planning to watch this anyways. Alyssa and Angela seem to like my reviews somewhat, so I might as well. By the way, my comments are written as I’m watching, so that’s why they might be a bit choppy-ish. Also, as a disclaimer, before you hate on me for whatever I say, just keep in mind that this is all my own opinion. Enjoy!
KBS Music Bank Ep. 774 (150306) As a warning, this was filmed a while ago, and KBS only put it up now, so this may be a bit outdated.
Jo Jung Min 『Dummy Bear』 —> Have I mentioned how much I love trot music before? This song is pretty old, but I still like it. I think that it’s very unique in the way it is sang, but she really can’t dance…. She looks so awkward and needs to work on her facials.
LU:KUS 『Break Ya』 —> The English is a bit odd, and instead of saying “baby” it sounds like they’re saying “bae” (same thing with “time.”) Other than that, I think that it’s catchy and I like the dance. Even though I don’t like the fact that they “want to break ya”, that is probably my favourite part.
KIXS (키스) 『비율 A+ (Beautiful)』 —> The debut song for KIXS is pretty safe in both dancing, lyrics, and composition, but that doesn’t mean that it was bad. He does the nae nae. THERE’S THIS RANDOM BREAK DOWN IN THE MIDDLE! I didn’t really like it since it didn’t really seem to match the rest of the song, but after it, I like the song more.
A.KOR 『Always』 —> I actually really like this song. The rappers make me happy, and the dance is good.
RUBBER SOUL (러버소울) 『LIFE feat. MAD CLOWN』 —> Mad Clown is in this. That makes any song good. It’s considered a “neo soul hip hop song,” and I agree. I also really like the rap, but you can tell that this is a debut group. It’s very repetitive. Side note: The only hairstyle I like is of the girl wearing a beanie who also has amazing vocals on her.
Sunny Hill 『Child In Time』 —> I remember talking about this song before. I really like the lyrics and the musicality of it. LOL, the blonde one almost started at the wrong time.
Tey 『Dangerous』 —> I still stick with my original judgment on this song; it’s OK. It’s just very consistent, but I like the chorus. A lot of people are doing the random band around one leg thing; I know Taemin and other boy/girl groups did it, too.
T.S (T-ARA, Speed, The Seeya, Seunghee) 『Don’t Forget Me』 —> A nice, warm ballad song is made from this huge collaboration. Everyone’s vocals are amazing, and I wish I could sing like that.
The Nuts 『I Can’t Forget About You』 —> This is a sad ballad song. Tugs at your heartstrings! I loved it so much! .•´¯`(>▂<)´¯`•.
MY NAME 『Too very so MUCH』 —> This song opened up in a very fun way. I love it! Nice brass line and an addictive chorus. When they sing it, it’s “too, very, so much,” so I’m not sure why the title is Romanized like this though.
1PUNCH 『Turn Me Back』 —> Still hate the concept, but I like the song. It’s taken me forever that 1PUNCH is made of member 1 (who is 20 y.o.) and Punch (who is 13!) Good job for being so young and coming so far.
9MUSES 『DRAMA』 —> I don’t know. The song is OK, I like the “you and me” section since I like the notes they hit; it’s a bit fun, but it doesn’t really stick out to me. Though I was right with my initial reaction, the more I listen to it, the more I like it (kinda like TTS – Holler.)
Niel (TEEN TOP) 『Affogato』 —> An affogato is basically a special type of coffee by the way; I know when I first say the title I was like, “Wha?” I like the beat of the song. A nice solo debut from TEEN TOP. I like the chorus of the song a lot, or I guess that was the end?
Niel (TEEN TOP) 『Bad Girl』 —> I love Niel so much. Look at his dancing! Look at his singing! Look at him! I love the contrast of the sharp, fast dancing with the soft, calm music. LOOK AT THAT VIDEO EDITING! Random backup dancers came out of nowhere. O.o
AMBER (f(x)) 『Beautiful』 —> AMBER IS MY BABY! OMIGOD! I LOVE HER SO MUCH! SHE IS LITERALLY THE BEST PERSON! This song is amazing, and makes me feel all the emotions! This song is beautiful and has such a nice meaning to it. It’s a nice, bare song; acoustic guitar and her singing about how beautiful it is to not give up on a dream. “I’m happy to be myself!”
AMBER (f(x)) 『SHAKE THAT BRASS ft. Wendy (Red Velvet)』 —> This song is so fun! “Urban hip hop” with a fun, different-sound of brass. It makes you want to dance in your chair. I love how she references her llama-self! Also, got a bit of that nae nae. Wendy’s part is so nice.
Zion. T & Crush 『Just』 —> Zion. T looks so weird, and I can’t get over it. I like the song, it has a nice hip hop/R&B/rap. Personally, I think it was pretty good even though it was quiet the entire way through.
INFINITE H 『Pretty』 —> I love this song! It’s so upbeat. The dynamic between the two members is so nice. Basically, I like everything about this song. The dance is so cute.
U-KISS 『Playground』 —> I really like this song! My favourite part is the 툭툭툭 또 툭툭툭. Why isn’t U-KISS more popular? Dramatic handkerchief dropping.
4minute 『Cut It Out』 —> This is a nice hip hop song that talks about disregarding stereotypes and doing what you want. I like the lyrics and composition of this song.
4minute 『Crazy』 —> This is my jam! One of my favourite songs so far. I’m happy that Hyuna doesn’t look as psychopathic in the live as she has before even though she still looks pretty ‘crazy.’ I don’t like the wet bang look of Gayoon though. I’m still surprised that parts of this song haven’t gotten banned.
Jung Yong Hwa (CNBLUE) 『One Fine Day』 —> Whenever I hear this song, I feel speechless. He is an amazing singer are lyricist. The stage is very ethereal. Still don’t know why he needed to have a solor debut though since he is the singer of his band, but I guess it’s to make a new self-image….
Jonghyun (SHINee) 『Déjà-Boo ft. Zion. T』 —> I LOVE THIS SONG! I LOVE JONGHYUN! I LOVE SHINEE! I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS! Nice microphone ‘trick’ at the beginning. This song and dance are perfect. Even though Jonghyun’s solo debut isn’t as dance heavy as Taemin’s, it suits his style. He’s such a cutie doing the “wow” backup for Zion. T.
Final Conclusion: Even though all the songs were pretty good, it’s quite obvious that some stick out more than the others. ALSO, YONGHWA WON!!!!!!!!!!!!
