Glass!!!!!
This is piece is pretty old now, but it's very important to me. It's the piece that kinda started it all for me. It was the first time I made a piece that felt wholey organic, and people responded to it really well. I had even sold a few prints of it, which was an enormous ego boost for me, as my self-esteem was abysmal in 2016. Since today is my birthday, I thought I'd share it again. When I made this, I was fresh off of playing Dragon Age Inquisition. The flat graphic style of the cards in that game had a major artistic impact on me. I started seeing all of these textures and graphic styles that I had never experienced before, and I tried my best to replicate it. In my story, Ruin, I had this idea for a long time of a girl who cried so much that it caused a flood that almost takes her town away, and I wanted to explore that in a single image.
I also created this repeating pattern. A first for me, and now a favorite artistic pass-time for me.
Finally I merged it together with this piece. Unfortunately, I lost the larger file for this one, but here's a blurry version of it. The final title was "You move like water works, and I fall into you like a stone."
Beneth or above the water?
Peaceful reflections.
