of this characters' canon relationships, what are some of your favorites?

i mean hamid and azu are precious. i love that hamid met someone who was as emotionally open as him and immediately was like FINALLY YOURE MY NEW BEST FRIEND lmao

his relationship with skraak is sooo good and complicated, and i think it's one of those things that's going to be vital for hamid's character growth. azu is an amazing source of support for hamid (which i think he desperately needs) but she doesn't really push him on the hard issues or call him out on his bullshit (as helen mentioned in metacast 9). skraak is a constant reminder to hamid of what can happen when he uses his power maliciously or without thinking it through, and i love that alex has made it clear that skraak hasn't forgiven hamid for shoin's. (and might never really forgive him.)

and okay, i'm using 'favorite' relationship loosely here, because i'm actually fascinated by hamid's relationship with zolf, even though it physically causes me pain every time they interact outside of combat. i think hamid ties a lot of his trauma from the campaign to zolf, and i'd be interested to see if they could get along a little better in a situation that is less high stakes than the end of the world.

which relationships would you like to see explored further?

hamid and wilde!! i loved them gossiping together on the airship, and i think now that wilde is feeling a little better they could be really good friends and bond over common interests that the others in their group don't share. i hope they get a chance to hang out under better circumstances!

I'd also like to see more of cel and hamid! i love the mutual admiration between them (and how lydia and bryn have influenced their character builds to reflect that, with hamid taking a lightning spell and cel taking dragon and fire related skills) but I'd love to see more of them talking about deeper issues (and potentially magitech stuff, since they're both pretty skilled in that area). I think cel could be really good for hamid as he walks the line between learning from past mistakes and drowning in guilt over things he can't change, and hamid could help cel be more confident in themself and provide a lot of the warmth and affection that cel needs (and deserves!!)

i know the joke is that hamid is the token straight but i actually headcanon that he falls somewhere on the aro spectrum! no real reason why, just vibes and projection i guess, but i like that for him and we already know he looks great in green :)

3 - who is your favorite character to draw/write/daydream about? why?

For daydreaming, 100% Sasha. She's just so good, and I love the way Lydia has played her slowly coming out of her shell. If you've seen that comic someone made of Zolf and Grizzop crying proudly while she opens a bank account, that's what's going on in my imagination all the time as I just daydream about her getting to be loved and live a long life full of cool flips.

I do find her weirdly difficult to write, though; I actually vibe with Hamid a lot more on that level. He's fun to daydream about too, for that matter; I love me a baby dragon. I also project some of my minority-cut-off-from-culture feels onto him, though his experience is almost as different from mine as it's possible to be while still fitting that description.

11 - assemble a team of four! pcs, npcs, (ocs?), whatever floats your boat. optimize for ship dynamics, potential for character growth, or (my personal recommendation) pure chaos.

so i wasnt sure where to go with this one at first but...

skraak, sasha, grizzop, and cel. this team is partially designed for sneaky chaos and because i love them, but i also picked them because i would love to see them traveling the world and wreaking hell on anyone who treats others as less-than-people. from a character growth perspective, i'd love to see sasha getting the chance to learn from cel and i feel like they'd be a really good steadying influence on her while also teaching her how to explode stuff. i think skraak and grizzop have a sort of efficient pragmatism that would mesh well, and wouldnt be surprised if grizzop invites skraak to join the cult of artemis at some point. i think he'd say no, but i also think it would be cool for skraak not to have to be the responsible one.
