the winchester brothers and faith in s1 analysis
the contrast between sam and dean's opinions on religion is relatively different so it interests me. sam winchester, who at the beginning follows faith; the same light in his eyes you see reflected in the other visitors of the faith healer in episode twelve. genuine hope. sam winchester, who occasionally clings to belief because it might be the one of only things that makes sense to the whirlwind that is his mind. "my brother holds enough faith for both of us."
dean winchester, who at the beginning is the most reluctant in the room to believe. whose ideas of 'faith' are skewed by his experiences hunting.
dean winchester, who knows demons are real--yet this knowledge outweighs his willingness to give in to the idea that angels are too. until he met cas. D: "from the get-go you've been willing to buy all this angel crap, and what's next? Are you going to start praying every day?" S: "i do." D: "what?"
S: "i do pray every day. i have for a long time."
short analysis cuz i'm too tired to elaborate but u get my meaning i might edit this w deeper thoughts later ok?? haven't finished spn yet so might be changed laters
