We have been camping for several days in a small town named Evart, Michigan. The largest dulcimer festival in the United States is held here every July. It's not just dulcimers, though. It's an acoustic music festival with lots of ukulele players, fiddle players, and the like. Brian has been coming here since long before he knew me. This weekend has been something else! I came Thursday night. Over 2 days, we had buckets of rain and scary winds. We had gusts up to 48 mph. (They expected 2-3 inches from this storm system.) Today we had to take cover because there was a tornado sighting in the area. We made the best of it and sang songs like "Here Comes the Sun," "It ain't Gonna Rain No More,"Blue Skies," "Singing in the Rain…" but the rain is a little slower now, maybe 20 hours later. It's not expected to be done. When Camping in a tent, it's important to bring the "kitchen," the box of food-prep tools & dishes/ tableware. Alas, I failed that test today. I also lost my pouch in my purse with straws and plasticware... it was in there when I left the house!!! Luckily, I found these items in the car, and we will get by. Two bowls with lids for taking leftovers from restaurants without wasting styrofoam. Two forks and one spoon because we sometimes eat from grocery stores and food co-ops when we travel to music gigs. A small pocket knife with blade and tiny scissors. A straw. A box of tissues. Two fabric "napkins/paper towel substitutes. Yay, me!
