The meet up
This is the last of the intro stories. After this one, we will be going back to the main plot. I hope you enjoyed this little detour, and once again, Pokemon belongs to Nintendo, Ratatouille, in this case specifically the character Remy which we changed the spelling of for copyright reasons, belongs to Disney and Pixar, and the OCs belong to Wraith. Also once again, please go check out their stuff on Wattpad.
It's been a couple of weeks since Gia met her friend Reme, and the four of them once again agreed on a time to meet up as one big friend group as they had met up before but it was always cut short for various reasons. She sat in the agreed upon waiting spot for the others, which happened to be where it all began.
As she reminisced on the past and imaging how things will go, the bushes made a familiar rustling sound. She turned and out popped Water Gun, Elan, and Reme. She smiled widely and excitedly as she gave the three a big hug.
"You guys made it," she exclaimed while hugging.
"Yeah, well, Water Gun's directions didn't help much," Elan responded as they hugged back. Water Gun and Reme also hugged her back before they all let go. Water Gun also grumbled that things look different when you're used to wearing shades all the time.
Before any fighting could start, Gia asked what they should do to hang out. They all thought for a bit before Elan offered to hang out at their place. The other three Pokemon, not able to think of any ideas of their own, agreed. Elan proceeded to lead the way to their place.
After a few minutes of walking, they came across a mansion. With everything that she saw that day, Gia was expecting a McMansion. But nope, they were headed to an actual one that was about a mile off the main road.
Soon enough, they arrived at the gate and jumped up so that the person working security there that day could see them. "Elan and others," they said, although all the guard heard was "Eevee Eve Eevee." Nonetheless, the gate was opened and they were let through.
Once past the gate, Elan started a little mini tour. They stated that Karen's family aren't filthy rich, but are rich enough that she was able to inherit the estate from her parents and that, from what they've overheard, it's been in the family for generations. They also told them that she doesn't like people stepping on the grass and Water Gun immediately got onto the sidewalk while blushing in embarrassment. It continued on until they reached the door.
Elan paws at it, asking to be let in. The door opens and the kid let's them in while picking Elan up, asking them a bunch of questions about the others. Before they could hear any sort of "Eevee"s as a response, marching was heard coming down the stairs. It revealed to be Karen in a face mask.
"What's all this noise for?!" She screeched, causing everyone but Elan and their trainer to jump, and before anyone could get a word in edge wise she started yelling about how she's in the middle of relaxing and how everyone's being too noisy. Gia thought that was ironic coming from her.
While stopping to take a breath and before she could start back up, the kid said, "Elan came home with some friends." This got her to do a complete 180 on how she acted, asking why no one said anything earlier and orders the chefs to get their "finest Pokemon food." They quickly bring it out while the four of them get situated.
They all look around at the chaos, each with a different reaction. Reme looks nervous in a way, Water Gun is almost living the life, Gia feels sorry for the people working under her, and Elan is more or less indifferent. Gia asks them if they ever felt sorry for the workers, and they said they do but that they're also used to it.
Food is served and everyone starts chatting. During various conversation topics, they learned that her name is actually April and that she's been dubbed the local Karen due to obvious entitlement, their trainer is actually a boy named Brian, he's an only child and doesn't seem to be entitled like his mom, and Elan has no idea what gender they are just that it feels like they have more than one and that it fluctuates and as a result are ok with any pronouns. The three of them make a mental note of that.
After everyone is done eating, they all move to the living room to chat. Gia felt something was off, and her gut instinct turned out to be correct. Quickly coming closer to them was a Yamper going "oh my Arceus" over and over again as they run up to them. Elan groaned, appearing to know who it was.
"Oh my Arceus," the Yamper said one last time before starting to say stuff that wasn't just that phrase. "Elan, are these the friends you've been telling me about? I mean I'm guessing they are because rarely anyone is let in unless the one inviting them is close or they have an appointment with someone living here and security hasn't chased them out, so the only assumption left is that these are the friends you talk about." The Yamper rambled on a bit more, not even introducing themself, which made Elan have to interrupt and do it for them. Elan introduced them as Bean, using She/Her pronouns to do so. Bean proceeded to ask if any of them really didn't have any trainers.
"Nope," Gia responded happily, knowing that she probably wasn't able to be caught by a Pokeball. "Elan's the only one of the friend group who is." April overheard and started offering various family members who had kids who wanted Pokemon of their own. The three of them argued, Gia having to translate while arguing, that just because they don't have one doesn't mean they aren't happy.
Gia, stressed and upset that they aren't understanding, accidentally and unknowingly sends serotonin towards everyone. Everyone catches a whiff and they all start calming down, while the Karen looks almost high. This makes her more upset, now know why she wanted her son to catch her.
Elan, now calmed down and able to think clearly, suggest that they hang out elsewhere. The others agree and they head out. Brian and Bean ask to join, which they are allowed reluctantly. They spend the rest of the day in town doing various things before having to head back for dinner.
Thanks once again for reading and sticking through this until the end. I hope you guys enjoyed and I know I said that they were going to meet each other in this chapter, but I didn't think she'd wait that long to introduce them to each other. Also, in case you guys are curious, yes Elan is genderfluid. However, while you can use any pronouns to refer to them, I will be using They/Them for consistency and stuff. In the mean time, next time will be back to more present day type stuff.
