Andrew the doctor has been mentioned a few times and I wanted to know: does he ever feel sorry for Zander or his other patients?

Ah Andrew, you’d think he’d come up more since he performs a relatively important job, but unfortunately, he doesn’t. That being said I do in fact think about him often.

I feel like I should preface this with the fact that Andrew didn’t take this position willingly, but when given the option to leave, he did choose to stay specifically for his patients. He does feel sorry for them, for Zander especially though. Zander has probably been the only consistent patient he’s had over the past six years, and when he first met him Zander was only 18, he was very much so still a “child” in his eyes, and he knew that he was the only bit of help or care that he would get in more serious situations. Even before Zander started fighting they had frequent visits because the Whitakers did not go easy on him by any means.

Given the circumstances, there isn’t really much he can do aside from giving the best care he can. He does his best to provide smaller, unnecessary comforts, he tries to treat his patients as people rather than animals as often as he can, and he doesn’t leave because he knows he’d be surrendering these people to someone likely far less qualified and far less invested than he is.

That was a lot. I get very invested in side characters I rarely mention. Tldr: he does in fact feel very sorry for them.
