I hereby swear that from now until the day Donald Trump leaves office, I will #WearThePin.
People are afraid in this country, and for good reason. Those with intolerant tendencies and violent fantasies are now feeling justified in acting them out. Daddy’s told them it’s okay.
Well it’s not okay, and we need to do something to stop it.
I’m talking to you now, white guys.
We need to show women, people of color, LGBT people, the disabled, and anyone else targeted by those who would defile our image as white males, that we do not agree with everyone who looks like us, and that we will stand up for them when they need it.
You don’t have to be a Democrat to do this. I don’t care who you voted for, or if you voted at all. This is where we are now. This is what we can do.
Wear a safety pin on your shirt, where you would normally wear a pin. Keep it there. You never know who might need to see it. Separate yourself from this hate and send a welcoming message in a time of turmoil. It’s the least, and right now, maybe the most we can do.
Please share this message.
