Haiku poetry is an art form that has intensely captured my interest lately. I love the creative pressure it puts on each word. In this poem I was inspired by a lovely short poem I read on the Original Content Poetry reddit community entitled O Little Fleeting Feather by Virtuous Pone. I focused in on the details that compose a feather and how they bring life, movement, and flight to avian species. Each feather consists of rows of barbs with their own tiny lattice tussled about by the wind yet together forming a magnificent plumage capable of wonders our human bodies only dream of. Image Description: Birds fly across a sunset sky of grey and pink. In the foreground artistic gymnasts are lifted into the air on the outstretched hands of people standing as bases. The ground around them is dotted with rocks stacked into towers. The Ottawa river and Gatineau Quebec skyline is behind them.
