Graduating college and getting a full-time job and having to take care of my house while my parents are in Europe has definitely helped me come into my own a bit. I’ve matured and grown and changed, as we all do when big things happen in our lives.
What growing up means is to come into our own, to grow wiser and stronger and smarter. But there are people that seem to have allowed themselves to grow old and cynical, although they are not old by any means. They believe that they must do certain things and say certain things and must stay away from anything that could be seen as childish or immature. They’re afraid.
I refuse to grow out of my passions and my childlike wonder. I refuse to stop being silly, I refuse to stop watching animated movies or fancying stuffed animals and Disney stuff. These are parts of my very being and will always be.
Don’t be afraid, don’t lose your wonder or imagination, don’t feel you need to act a certain way because you’re a certain age. You are you and that’s all you need to be.
