Homemade Toothpaste, Part Deux
I originally posted about homemade toothpaste on my blog a few months ago, and have since been experimenting on some new recipes. Here is my favorite:
Ingredients:
4 finely crushed calcium tablets
Steep teabag in boiling water for 15 minutes til it has naturally cooled. You can also boil fresh peppermint or mint leaves, strain them out and use that water.
Remove and discard the teabag
Combine coconut oil and cornstarch in a small bowl.
Stir in about 1/2 of the peppermint water (that should be enough to make a nice paste) Refrigerate any leftover water for another batch later.
Note: If you don't mind the taste, you can also add 1 tsp baking soda to the original oil paste mix, but I prefer not to.
