People really be comparing 16 to 15, instead of comparing 16 to 14? "Someone close to a person gets offed in front of them and then they turn into a summon" could practically be a 14 plotline
I’m not a FF14 player but the setting, the atmosphere, even the models of the characters look like FF14’s younger siblings to me xD which is kinda normal i guess, since they have the same creators, like Naoki Yoshida, Hiroshi Takai and more. Also, FF14 is one of the most successful FF game of the last years, so of course that SquareEnix is going back to that type of style (and let’s not forget that the earliest FF games all had this kind of medieval fantasy profile).
Anyway, it will surely be a brand new story, with brand new characters not connected to FF14, even if FF14 inspiration will probably be all there. I’m kinda curious. Let’s see what they will have to say.
