Just wanted to say that I love your Sammick meta. I am not Black (hell, I don't even know if I count as a poc to Americans) and I felt uncomfortable for a while for shipping Sammick and Remstack, thinking that I was being antiblack. I will most likely stay a lurker, but I wanted to say that I want to hug every Sammick shipper, esp the Black shippers which I believe make most of the Sammick fandom, you don't deserve any of the hate. People are so weird about this ship and they don't realize that the gatekeeping and the hostility is probably going to kill the Sinners fandom, because I and other people I know refrain from talking about it online because any kind of wrongthink gets you hate. Sammie is my fave and it sucks that I am honest to god afraid of talking about him online.

and i hope you know that enjoying sammick or remstack doesn't make you antiblack. loving a Black character, being thoughtful about how you engage with them, and participating in a fandom that's mostly Black is not something you need to feel guilty about. the guilt you feel is exactly what the gatekeeping is designed to produce and it's working on people who are most likely caring and reflective.

it sucks that people are scared to post about things they like because any misstep becomes a witch hunt. sammie is a character worth talking and writing about. sammick and remstack are both dynamics worth exploring. don't let the loudest voices convince you otherwise. come out of lurking whenever you're ready! GET BEHIND ME!
