Advice for Remy, Day 101. Appreciate every day, as time goes by so very quickly. This time a year ago, your mum and I were in the maternity hospital having a 24 hour break from repeated inductions to try and encourage you to make an appearance. In fact it would still be another almost 48 hours before you’d finally grace us with your presence. However, despite not yet having a full year on this earth, today was your second Easter - which seems a little odd. You didn’t really appreciate the first one, and we’re pretty sure you’re not aware of what’s going on with this one either. But still, we made sure you could get into the Easter spirit lockdown-style. You had an Easter-themed photoshoot of course, where you and Paul dressed up as Easter bunnies (when the pictures emerge at your eighteenth birthday party you can be assured that the whole thing was your mother’s idea). You had a little Remy bear Easter egg decorated in your honour, to mark the occasion. And, most importantly of all, you had your first ever taste of chocolate, after 364 days on this earth. I think you liked it, judging by your facial expressions, but I can be almost certain that you’ll never go 364 days again without having some more. But as we get closer to your birthday we’re having those inevitable ‘I can’t believe time has gone so quickly’ thoughts, and are wanting to make sure we savour every moment as a growing little family. Make sure you appreciate every day, even the mundane, as every one is precious and something to be enjoyed, embraced and remembered.
