There have been a billions posts about this before, but I want to throw my hat into the ring and talk about it.

I know a lot of people are new to Tumblr and dont exactly know how it works, so thank you for joining us!! We are happy to have you :]

The thing that is a little heart breaking tho is seeing the notes on posts. There used to be a time when reblogs where usually higher than likes. But now days because of how other social media works, people dont tend to reblog posts as much anymore. Here are some of the notes on fanart from the Janka tag for example:

You can see that the total notes are very high, but the reblogs are incredibly low.

Tumblr RUNS on reblogs!!

When you reblog a post you like you are spreading it further without taking away attention from the original artist. Unlike Instagram or Twitter, likes dont do much here. There is an algorithm to suggest posts similar to those you've liked but most Tumblr users have it turned off since they prefer to see what their mutuals reblog.

What I'm trying to get at is: if you see a post you like please reblog it!! And if you REALLY like it drop some kind words in the tags.

I am not saying you have to reblog every single post you like, but if it connects with you and you want others to see it please consider rebloging. It will make the OPs very happy and encourage them :]
