In a modern!AU I headcanon them still being unionists, but also being into alt music. They would have probably met during a unionists meeting, during a collective strike/picketing somewhere or a anti-fash/solidarity concert/fest...or maybe even at a radical Pride Parade?

Gaëlle would totally have one/both sides of their head shaved. Idk why, but in every modern!AU idea I've had, Gaëlle always turn non-binary (hence the pin) and uses they/them.

Renard's style was inspired by punka/rocka/gotha/psychobilly. I had no idea what to do for his vest so I thought adding some leopard pattern would look cool but it devolved into cheetah print and...I'm not mad lol? (Only thing I'm mad at is my lilac pen dying when I was still doing the background)

My entry for the 1st week prompt of the A Fanart's Promise February challenge

Inspired by La Fontaine's "Le corbeau et le renard"

Full French text in case you cant read cursive:

"Camarade mécano, sur son échafaudage perchée,

Tenait en ses mains une clé à molette.

Camarade Renard, par la belle attiré,

Vint lui conter fleurette:

"Hé bonjour, camarade Gaëlle !

Que vous êtes jolie! Que vous êtes belle!

Sans mentir, si votre plastique

Se rapporte à votre maîtrise technique

Vous êtes le meilleur talent de toute la fabrique!"

A ses avancés, la Mécano ne répondit pas;

A la place, un flot de jurons elle débita:

"Espèce de s************ de sale tuyauterie de m**** de mes c******** de mes deux!!!"

Pendant que la fuite elle tentait de colmater,

La clé à molette chût sur le crâne du valet.

Gaëlle marmonna alors, les joues un peu empourprées:

"File à l'infirmerie, ton sang va salir tout l'atelier;

La prochaine fois, évite de m'y aguicher."

Camarade Renard sortit, quelque peu étourdi et confus,

Et jura qu'une Gaëlle occupée il ne séduirait plus."

Bonus: "Quand même, elles sont un peu bizarre les Fables de Parrain..."
