Cullen can't be a virgin, because virgins don't know what the fuck they're doing in bed and Cullen can only be cute-fumbly and not legitimately awkward-unsexy-fumbly.

That's fine, it’s a matter of preference and it can go either way.

But in explaining where Cullen got his sexual experience, we have to make sure the relationship and the partner was in no way comparable to the Inquisitor. She (because Cullen is straight, naturally all of his previous partners were women even though he was stationed in a tower in the middle of a lake full of DUDES for his early career) cannot be as "good” as the Inquisitor, however the author wishes to qualify this. If she is good, we need to make sure we fridge her so we don't have to deal with the nuisance of Cullen having lingering feelings for anyone else. This has the added bonus of adding to his tragic backstory, which the Inquisitor can later comfort and relieve him of.

(Edit: the tower was full of dudes, the lake was [probably] not full of dudes)

Honestly the only thing worse than a bad fic is a good fic that fridges an LI in anticipation of the future superior LI. That shit drives me bananas.

A past flame doesn't have to DIE to be out of the picture. There are so many reasons why people move on and still have healthy affection for former partners that in no way diminishes their relationship with their current partner. If you cannot handle any sort of competitive complexity, well, it doesn't have to be competitive. i haven’t found too many new releases that interest me for the remainder of 2017 so i wanted to keep an eye on agents of mayhem’s drop 

polygon punched the game in the face. they were so jazzed for it earlier this year.
