Dana, Dana, whatever shall we do with you, hm?  I remember when he was a boy, a toddler, this tiny thing at his mother’s side.  Of course, I was basically a child myself then and somewhat less elegant.  Time does get away from you.  And now we’re both ghouls.  Funny how that works out, hm?

I really have always thought he had a lot of potential.  He has good intentions, I do think.  He obviously doesn’t listen, but what can you do, hm?  It’s his life, after all.  It’s a pity he never got away from this town but...well, most of us never really get out of Goodneighbor, do we?  We really don’t.  He’s not dead.  I suppose that’s enough.  He’s a good kid.

...I just don’t understand why he has to wear all black, though.  I know he likes Cash but really now, really. I don’t suppose he’s going to settle down with a nice girl or even a nasty girl, but not everyone is the marrying sort, I suppose.

8. What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story? 

i’m not sure if there’s a great deal of myself that i relate to in Khila, since her story by its nature is something that is very grounded in fantasy. but if you were to boil it down, i guess her character is a look at the struggle there sometimes is between doing the good thing and doing the right thing, and that’s definitely something that’s been relevant in my life at times

19. What is your favorite fact about your OC?

something that i haven’t explored much about just flavour/headcanons with Khila is that she’s a bit fan of fiction within her world, and her favourites are a series of shlocky detective novels about a travelling arcanist who solves murder mysteries called Mistress Andella. at one point Khila used “Mistress Andella” as a cover name in an investigation the party was conducting, and nobody picked up on it but it was a thrill to her to pretend to act as this witty, intelligent and intellectual female figure that had been an inspiration to her - it was a roleplay within a roleplay.

i actually recycled the name “Mistress Andella” from a piece of lore about an arcanist from a long-dead society from my campaign, and it’s not the first time; though i never got the chance to use it in-game, Mistress Andella Cyndeline was also an alias used by Rook in one of his many cons. i may have to actually end up playing Andella as a legit character at one point; if i do she’ll likely be an Inquisitive Rogue/Wizard multiclass. and because i’ve used the alias that many times, people will probably not believe she’s actually my legit character.

11. What is your favorite edition of d&d?

i’ve only played 3.5 and 5e (plus pathfinder) but i’ve got a small amount of experience with 2e from isometric rpg’s like baldur’s gate and a pseudo-4e from pillars of eternity. i’d say overall 5e is my favourite because it’s the most flexible system in terms of letting players play how they want and add flavour how they like, but i did also very much enjoy pathfinder even though its rules are a lot more rigid because it’s got just SO MUCH content that you can find something to suit you.

assuming 4e plays something similar to how pillars of eternity does - which anyone that i know who’s played both says it does, more or less - i wouldn’t mind giving it a go sometime. i gather it’s a much more tactical, wargames-y type game so would probably be very good with something that’s very combat-oriented
