The Beginning of Endaiger
ṡώαṉ} Another night of work all alone. Of course night always was his favorite time of the day so he didn't mind. After all, night was the time of day when the stars came out to play. When you see them dancing across the sky. It was his job to watch them and learn about them so it was perfect to him that things were this way.
Though it was also his job to invent better and more effective ways to research them. Sure sending satellites into the air helped some and high powered telescopes helped but they both cost a lot of money and had their issues. Satellites took forever to get around and get their information back and where good but what about direct sightings? That's what telescopes were for but they could only be placed in certain locations and were large buildings that took a lot of time to make, and again, a lot of money.
As a traveling astronomer it was in Professor Nishikido Atsushi's best interest to design a more portable way of viewing stars. A portable high powered telescope that could do what the big guys did or at least close. It was a project he had started working on when he first got into the field because he desired to not be stuck researching only at observatory across the planet when some stars could only be noticed in places where they either couldn't build one or simply it'd be too much trouble and costly.
By design the device would be connected via arm band to the arm of the traveler and dispense the telescope for viewing. The telescope would actually be recreated by the device for every use and when put back into the device it's parts would be put back. Basically, using new technology they had, he could set in certain programs for how he wanted the scope to be in size and strength and the device will produce it using the metals contained within and it would be ejected and given to the user and this could be done an infinite number of times. Glass would not make the lenses but a new artificial glass was used to help with the issues of glass being fragile and not able to change shape very quickly or effectively.
Now today Nishikido was hoping to test this new device, and he would no matter what, but he was still having issues with one thing. Finding a suitable power source. Currently he needed to hook up a generator to it to give it enough power to do the functions it had. It took a lot of energy to completely build and take apart a scope. Especially at fast speeds. As well as to power the telescope so it could concentrate and absorb the amount of light needed from the stars to clearly see all that was needed to see. Still at least a generator worked and with that generator he took it for it's first official test run. He set the power for the device so he could see Cygnus clearly that was up in the sky. After all it was a very interesting constellation for scientists like himself.
Nervously the scientist took the produced scope to his eye and he looked out through it at a very clear Cygnus and a smile soon formed at his lips. His invention was working! And very well at that! It was picking up the beautiful colors and shapes that made up the stars in Cygnus just as he hoped!!!
