Letter to you <3 Taylor
The first time i heard who @taylorswift @taylornation was was in church summer school. Tear Drops on my guitar was my little song on repeat on my ipod nano. Thats when i fell in love.
You were all I talked about in middle school. Those times were rough as i was discovering myself. People started to define who I was before I knew who i was. Six grade, people called me “gay”. I didn’t even know what gay meant LOL.
But you were one of the reasons why that didn’t really matter. As the bullies continued you music and you was all i talked about. Everyone thought i was super annoying.
I remember when i was in 7th grade and Fearless tour was sold out, I bought a little radio from Walgreens and hid in the bathroom during class to call the radio stations to win tickets. I was very very close but never won. The lengths I went through to go to your show in HP Pavilion in San Jose.
Speak Now was my first ever show, I made the exact sign “Taylor Swift 13″ and I made sure it was lit all night, i even bought extra batteries and changed it during breaks, keep in mind i used around 30 batteries for these lights.
Then Red was my second show! brought the same sign and it was in Sacramento, and I found people to drive me all the way there from San Francisco in 10th grade.
1989 tour came along, you came for 2 days and I made sure i attended both! I danced my ass off it was the best night ever with mom and friends. Hella girls took pics with me. I was so sore but it was worth it.
Your reputation album actually came out on my birthday and it was something i looked forward the most.
I literally listen to you every day from Taylor swift to fearless, to speak now, to red, 1989 and rep.
I literally went to POPTOPIA in San Jose to see you before your REP Tour and it was amazing.
Before i started college in 2018 fall, I actually became a victim of sexual assault, I had help from people in getting through it but knowing that you got thru it and got the justice you deserved gave me the courage to do the same.
At my first semester at UC Berkeley, in my media classes, I literally write all my academic papers about you. All the students in my classes are aware that I rave about you and your work and your journey in discussions. I even get my grad school instructors to play your LWYMMD Video and we dissect the meaning of it.
You make school fun because I get to talk about YOU.
Rep tour came, I had VIP Center pit the first night, i went alone and it was the best day ever, I never expected to see you this close. I worked my ass off to afford these tickets. I met some great people too!
Rep day 2 - I brought my mama and my best friends. My mom loves you and we bond a lot over you. She raves about your show and all her asian friends say they never seen concerts like yours before.
Im SUPER EXCITED to come to Arlington Night 1! I was fortunate to find time and fly to Texas from SF to come see you one last time. Center Pit again.
I just wanted to say that I cant believe I got to see you grow as an artist and person. You have made a profound impact in my life with your music and your artistry. My grandparents always talks about you and calls you the “country girl” every-time they hear you on the radio as i drive them to do errands. I remember showing your music videos and tour vids in their room at night. Also how they help me with craft projects for your concert.
Your music helps me get thru my day. I literally dream about you all the freaking time. How i bump into you in the streets and i’d be freaking out and how i have conversations with you about life. Literally my wildest dreams.
Every time an album came out, you on a magazine cover, posters, vinyls and what not, GIRL you for sure know i own like 2 -3 copies each.
I also love singing your songs on piano and guitar. YOU were the reason why i learned guitar in middle school.
Your profound impact on me will last forever in my lifetime. I cant wait to see you again in Arlington. <3
Love your #1 Fan,
Victorio
