Why do people make such a big show about coming back if they are just gonna leave again?

Ma has a really bad migraine so she's dealing with that, Dad is home early from work and what does he do? Sits on his ass while there's a huge pile of laundry that needs to be folded in their bedroom.

Reminds me of the time when he first moved in with us when I was in 5th grade and we had a huge laundry pile in the living room that everyone would just dump more clean stuff onto and pick out of it when it was time to get dressed - he wasn't even working at that time and he just let that pile sit behind him for months at a time while he played computer games or was online. The only time it ever got cleared was when Ma had a built up frustration attack and would scream at everyone for being messy so Sis and I would help out of fear and he just hid in the bedroom.

Ma doesn't scream anymore bc she's had to deal with it the whole relationship and I think at this point she's just so worn down by his lack of domestic help that she doesn't care anymore and just sees it as another thing she has to do bc "no one else will".

This is part of the reason why I think my stepdad is a major energy drain and why I don't like being around him. Which sucks bc I live here.
