Whats ur fave version of firewind
Ooo thats a hard one, because I really love all of the variations and how they would potentially interact with each other.
(Rant incoming, I love yapping about this)
For me, though, the most interesting version of them is Lord of Ash and Zephyr of Life. Purely because Ash is so... Hopeless. He's dying and can do basically nothing about it. And Zephyr of Life, to me, is a being of hope. Hopeless x hopeful is such a good trope.
I also really like Resplendent Wind Guardian and Wings of Fire. This is a pairing of people who have realized themselves and have come to terms with their faults, and can come together as people who have figured themselves out and found out they don't need to be more or less, they just need to be themselves.
I think Lord of Ash and Night Raven are also interesting. They both kind of gave up on themselves and, to me at least, got together because misery loves company. They love each other but would be completely fine if they both died. That's such a fascinating pairing to me. (I also really like when Ash falls in love with Night Raven and that gives him hope, even thought the world has gone to shit he still wants to be with Night Raven and help him fight off the darkness inside him. Highly recommend the fics "Faceless and Running from the Sun" by Nycteridae and "i'll lay by your empty coffin" by LocallyGrownDaikon, they explore this concept really well.)
On the other end of that, Immortal Cataclysm and Zephyr of Life is so toxic in such a wonderful way. Zephyr is so desperately trying to help Cataclysm and he is either blind to it or just doesn't care. (Cataclysm is canonically suicidal too, he says himself that if he burns alongside the world it might even be better) He wants the world to burn and he wants to go down with it and it's so fascinating watching Zephyr try to bring back Fire Spirit even though he's too far gone.
Fire Spirit and Wind Archer (like their base forms, no costumes or anything) is also very good too. Fire being this laid back and chill guardian and Wind constantly pushing himself to work harder and do better (basically opposites attract) is my favorite thing ever ever!!! I think I talk about them the most when I'm talking about them with my friends.
I like all the variants of FireWind so so much, they're all so interesting and varied. Def my favorite pairing in cookie run (alongside espresseleine, I could talk about espresseleine all day LMAO).
I personally think all of the variants are so so good, but these five really stand out to me as the most interesting sets. I love how varied this ship is, they each have their own personalities and beliefs and I love them so much!!! Thank you for giving me an opportunity to talk about them!!!
