i'm not familiar with the larger anne rice universe beyond the iwtv movie and s1 of the show, out of curiosity roughly how much of the talamasca show is vaguely threatening homoeroticism between various old men and store brand eddie redmayne?

short answer: UNFORTUNATELY, not enough.

long answer: I started watching the Talamasca show because I was vaguely interested, and then about halfway through -- there are only six episodes, so. -- it quickly became a "fast forward unless Guy (store brand eddie redmayne) and Jasper (prime puppy handler) are on screen"

its..... not good. it is not good as an urban fantasy/supernatural show, it has yet to tie itself back into the IWTV of the universe in any useful or interesting way. the witches kind of suck. I am 95% sure I have guessed any possible twists from ep 6, although I GUESS there is a universe where they surprise me.

HOWEVER, the guy/jasper of it all is DEEPLY compelling, so I will be fastforward watching it and continuing to read the fanfic, which has already produced some horny gems

Hi, hello! I just remembered a TTRPG from Itch.io(?) that I'm trying and failing to find, and I could've sworn I remembered you and your group played it, so I wanted to ask you if it rung any bells?

What I recall of the game's prompt is it's an Ocean's Eleven deal, where the party plays as thieves during a heist, but the caveat is that they find out/have to work with the fact they're stuck in a timeloop after failing the job the first time. I remember the name of the game not necessarily being congruent to the set-up, which is what's making it tougher to Recognize the game I'm looking for.

re: military (and police) spending -- The US is #1 with $731B, China #2 with $261B, and then the US Police Force at #3 with $118B

next few are India $71B, Russia $65B, Saudi Arabia $61B, France $50B, Germany $49B, UK $49B

there are definitely other countries with high police spending, but as always.... the US gotta be #1...... on all the wrong metrics.......
