Old Shipping Pallets Create A Safe Haven For Refugees
On chemically-treated wood.
Those beautiful pallets (and even the uglier pallets) used for cargo shipments around the world are treated with harsh chemicals including methyl bromide and aren't safe for repurposing into furniture.
Damn.
Looks like I'll have to make something / find someone who can make something since I won't be attempting this neat idea for a seating situation anymore.
