How Can You Protect Your Reputation Online?
How safe is your reputation online reputation? In most cases with individuals and companies their reputation online is wide open to be exploited. Some companies stand to lose not just money but the brand they have spent years on promoting. In many cases your competition will use any trick they can to beat you.
In the years I have been in a Reputation Manager I have seen good companies and good people defamed for something they did not do. In most cases these negative remarks have come from disgruntled employees and their competition. And in all of these cases the victims had left themselves wide open on the internet to be exploited.

With the advent of Twitter and real time indexing, content can get posted on the Internet be live within seconds. Negative content regarding someone or a product can go viral damaging a person's good reputation they have spend years on building. So how can this be prevented?
First, there is no 100% solution for the prevention of disparaging remarks about a person or company on the Internet today. However, there are certain steps you can utilize that will help safeguard you against online reputation slander.
My number on tip is to create content and get that content on the first page of the Search Engine Results page (SERPs). The more content or properties that you have on the first page of the SERPs, the harder it is for someone to attack you a blog or perhaps a negative comment on some forum for example.
Take Tumblr for one example. It is not that hard to get your content from Tumblr on the first page. Tumblr ranks well with Google. It has a Page Rank (PR) of 8 and it is dofollow. This means that you can get some decent "Google Juice" from Tumblr going to your website. The stronger your Tumblr blog becomes the more juice you get for your website. What you want to achieve is getting your content from Tumblr on the first page of the SERPs along with your website. You want to lock up 2 out of the 10 SERPs.

Online Reputaton Panda and Penguin Update!
Google's Panda and Penguin update has changed the face of the Internet. Problem is Google has thrown the baby out with the bath water. They have admitted they made a mistake and promise to fix their algorithm.
Now you go ahead and create new and unique content on another blog like Wordpress.com. Wordpress is also a dofollow and has a PR of 9. You do the same thing with your Wordpress blog as you did with your Tumblr blog. You should be able to three positions now in the SERPs. Now you have locked up 3 of the 10 positions in the SERPs.
Not only are you building a wall of protection on the Internet for you or your company, you are also going to get more traffic. And, the more traffic you get the stronger your blogs and website become. You will likely find that the money you have spent on Reputation Management is coming back to you ten fold.
