It was supposed to be a normal greeting upon the captain's return to the ship, a proper "welcome back" without imposing on their personal space, hoping that everything had gone well and no injuries were haunting them. Instead...well... Akira hadn't been there when Gran left, and so there's a surprised break in their smile once they actually do see them. Those clothes were really, really cute... Though the sentiment remains the same, the actions do not. "Welcome back, Gran, good job today," accompanying the words is the gentle pat of their head. (nekomancer...........

The job wasn't too taxing today, as the captain and their accompaniment returned to the Grandcypher. They'd accommodated to the others battle expertise, opting to be more supportive to ensure that everyone could work at their best, and it'd paid off. They were usually more adept at fighting in the frontlines themselves, but they weren't going to object to taking on a different role to make the job easier.

Boarding the ship, they let out a small sigh of relief to be back. They'd never complain about being able to take the jobs they did or the opportunity to work with some of their allies, but returning always seemed to have it settle how much the day had tired them ou-

The captain froze for a moment at the pat, confusion taking over before they relaxed on hearing the voice addressing them with the action. The gesture wasn't unwelcome, but was a surprise to him. Still, their confusion turned to contentment as they gave a smile towards Akira.

They'd met the other not long ago, and were more than willing to host them on the ship while they pursued their goals within the Sky Realm. The captain was more lenient with payment, by which he meant basically not requiring any at all, on learning that the other didn't have much experience with combat. He wouldn't put someone into dangers they couldn't handle, it'd be a failing on them as a skyfarer, in their eyes.

Though, the head pats were definitely new from them. It probably was just them trying to be friendly, or something. They didn't take offense, so they focused more on responding to their words rather than actions.

"Heh, yeah, I'd call it a good bit of work done today. I hope everything was normal around here while I was gone. I know it can be a bit much even when I am here."

💐 It'd be really funny to say Asters wouldn't it.

I'd probably go with Camellias, they're beautiful, they've got a lot of uses as a plant, their varieties of colors are really cool to see, and I enjoy their flower language meanings across their variants.

💐 I mentioned before that the Captain's Quarters are a sort of "organized chaos" type of feeling, between mementos, weapons, information for them to go over. The only exception to this is their bed, the one thing they go out of their way to maintain the cleanliness of for as undisturbed a sleep as possible. It's very much the room of someone who uses it as a place to return to when they must, since they're almost always out and about doing something otherwise.

As for their fears, they're terrified of losing the people they care about again. They spent their entire childhood without the people they'd wanted to value and love them, and now that they've made a family of their own with the main crew, they dread the idea of losing any of them. As for specifically ones they would need pryed out of them, you remember when the Otherworld fuckery made everyone in the crew except them forget Rackam ever existed? Yeah that. They didn't care for that shit, don't do that again. They can't take being left as the only one to remember someone so important to them like that.

💐 What first drew you to your muse?- When you've been in hell long enough you start latching onto what you can for your sanity's sake. Joking aside, I've always been interested in the in-between the Captain's had as a not quite player insert, and a lot of thoughts come from me playing touys with them regarding their circumstances and their characterization through everything they've gone through. I just happen to play as Gran so I'm more shifted towards them over Djeeta, but I still love you 'jeetr
