[ BACKDATED: 3RD JULY 2013 ] [ LOCATION: STARK INDUSTRIES, MANHATTAN ] @rescue-49
"...it works for limited periods - the capacitance needs some attention but you have more experience in that area. I figured we could grab some lunch and brainstorm---" Quentin's voice trails off as his hands fiddle with a series of miniature clamps, relinquishing the fragile edges of the thick frame of the prototype to let it rest against a protective layer on the worksurface. "...sure, I understand. It's my fault, I forgot no one's here tomorrow. Don't worry about it, I'll figure it out." Removing his headset to prop it against the VOIP system, the young engineer expels a sigh of resignation while pushing himself across the space, the wheels of his chair squeaking beneath his weight as he almost spins out of control, sneakers promptly halting his transition ( a motion out of pure habit ) as he draws towards the opposing workbench to finalise a progress-report he had been maintaining.
Blue eyes lift towards an adjacent clock, taking in the time with a groan ( how did it suddenly get so late? ), his hands withdrawing from the keyboard in consideration to leave for the evening. It had been a considerably quiet day given how a number of his colleagues were finalising plans for 4th July celebrations, opting to slack off a little while the developer restlessly maintained his ardent focus to meet a personally imposed deadline. The issue with the initial iteration of the glasses prototype’s ability to hold its electrical charge was the priority on his current growing list of concerns, the developer unable to entertain the idea of making plans of his own unless making a form of progress. Lightly scratching at his chin, his brow creases as he notices the fine hairs growing through, noting to himself that he needed to shave considering how he hated the prospect of growing facial hair ( it always seemed to come through patchy ).
