So, this baby squirrel approached my partner Sterling in a parking lot, and CLIMBED UP HIS CLOTHES, and started licking his exposed neck. Since then, I’ve read about 6 squirrel rehab sites in their entirety. We’ve spent the last week doing every 4 hour puppy formula syringe feedings. She wants to be on someone every waking moment (and then sleeps in a cat carrier with a heating pad and a towel, at night). She’s already bigger and more active.

I’m still considering releasing her at maturity and/or giving her to a wildlife rehab, we’re kinda taking it day by day. It’s honestly overwhelming sometimes as a responsibility, though she is also unbelievably adorable. And very thoroughly and constantly photographed.
