I swore I was gonna grade my students shit on time... But I was at a conference all week, have major revisions due on a manuscript, my wife is having a suicidal episode, I found out my dog might have cancer, and ..... as a finale .... totaled my car.

So it's not happening till next week, I haven't even done my own assignments.

My paper was rejected so I'm going to crawl into my spreadsheets and hide until I have the wherewithal to resubmit it 😭

Reasons why today sucks:

I have 1109 papers left to sort to catch up on the thesis progress

My curves are so bad I want to bury them in a hole rather than show my boss

Dressed cute for a meeting that got moved to tomorrow

Girlfriend baked double chocolate cookies and dropped me off some 💕

I feel a lot of (self imposed) pressure as a (autistic-fat-queer-femme) woman in STEM to dress professionally/seriously/respectably/boring at conferences. But I'm attending a new conference this weekend (where I don't know everyone through work) so fuck it.

Hair is staying pink, my nails are glittery, and I'm even pulling out the hot pink blazer that's been at the back of my closet for years.

Hi. Yes. I would like to lodge a complaint. It's ridiculous that every professor uses a different group messenger. Yes they're all at the same university. I do not need multiple redundant applications that all require two factor authentication. Oh my work uses Facebook messenger? Even worse. Want to join the family book club? I have to download slack now. I'm pulling out my hair and hiding under my desk

(meanwhile the fact I have five separate email addresses I use consistently is my own fault and I take complete responsibility for my mortal failings)
