How they have manipulated and distorted the word “dog” and “black” to compose an outline of a dog face. A very compelling typography design, which fuses imagery and typography. 

I like how well they have incorporated the dogs face into the actual typography design rather than just creating a separate logo for the design. Depending on what the typography design represents or shows, you should try to include or incorporate your mascot or icon into the typography design. (”Black Dog” prime example of incorporating the dogs face into the typography)

This is something which I need to heavily concentrate on, fusing corporate id/logos with typography in a well-sophisticated manner, 

in this case, the rebradning for crowne plaza.

Define Your Story

The building blocks of a compelling brand story include your company’s mission, vision and values.  Start with asking yourself the questions, “Why does the world need my product?” and “Why was I inspired to create it?” Resist the temptation to make your product’s story about what’s wrong with other products. “My X product is better than their Y product because it doesn’t do or have Z” Instead, remain positive, and always make sure your product rationale is about what your product does do.

Go Deep, Stay Consistent

Your brand strategy should be clear and compelling to everyone who comes in contact with your product. If your brand is about a new natural product, a commitment to the value of ‘natural’ should be evident in everything you do – the product itself, the packaging, your corporate culture, your education of your customer, and your own personal behavior.

The following few posts are me getting to grips with branding, so i can create a new and improved branding for Crowne Plaza.

Know Your Audience

Your brand identity should be based upon the concerns, needs, preferences, and lifestyle of your target audience. Find your niche and focus on it – don’t try to be everything to everyone. Do your homework, pay attention to the data, and know your target market inside out, by understanding the buying trends and opportunities in your product’s category.

Mercedes Me App rating 

This has shocked me alot, the ratings this app have are appauling. Mercedes benz expresses the important of having all their work near perfect and publishing this app before testing if the design works and how it funtions.

Mercedes me connect has many different functions:

• Status queries (e.g. mileage, tyre pressure, fuel level, charging status, etc.) • Distant access to your vehicle –  (e.g. locking and unlocking of the doors, (de-)activation of stationary heater/ventilation) • Facilitated trip planning (direct transmission of destination addresses to the navigation system, notification as to ideal starting time, etc.)

Why i choose the a45 for my project?

- I can obtain this car for face to face interaction, i have contacts that would be able to lend me the car to work with. 

- i have a genuine passion and entusiasm for this a class amg range. 

- even though there expensive, its the cheapest in the amg line up. In essence its the entry model to the amg performance cars.

- a45 amgs are made for the younger audience, that would naturally attract me aswell

- It lacks in featutues over the e class, s class and above range, and i feel there is no reason to not include this in their a class range.

Primary research of a45 amg

On the way to my gym i came across this a45 amg in the carpark, i managed to ask a few questions to the owner of the vehicle to help me with my research Here are the questions i asked

How do you feel about the concept of your cars control being transferred from your key to your smart phone but with more advanced features ?

who wouldn't want to control their car with their phone, and i think the Mercedes s class amg range have something similar but their too expensive for me
