MMSotD (Mutemath Song of the Day) #2 - “Progress” from the Reset EP.
“Progress” is a soft, pleasant electronica piece and a fan-favorite from the band’s first project (Reset EP). Mutemath gets a high amount of fan requests to play “Progress” live at their famously excellent concerts, and it’s not hard to see why. The song’s uplifting atmosphere and lyrics rarely fail to put a smile on a fan’s face, as the opening lines, “Pulling your confidence through / Some courage is well overdue / I believe solely in all your promise” leave a lasting impression.” Personally, I think this songs speaks to the nature of human progress- if we don’t have faith in each other, if we don’t believe solely in all our promise, nothing will change.
