Renewed Pride
Isaiah hated his life. Being from a small town in Mississippi didn't help much, nor did him being gay. For as long as he could remember, he faced torment from his classmates, neighbors, and even family. Scrolling on social media, his algorithm was chock full of Pride Month posts, which only made him envy those who could be out and proud. For him, the month was spent being in his room, doing makeup and trying not to arouse suspicion from his parents when he went on exceedingly rare late-night rendezvous. This was not the life he was meant to live. Even though he was college-bound, it was a state school, just two short hours from home; not enough of an escape from the life he sought to desperately to flee.
Luckily for him, he had heard from a friend of a friend about this app called ResetR. To his knowledge, the app was super expensive to sign up for, with a waitlist of almost a year. The App Store page advertised a "Pride Month Sale," which discounted all Resets by 50%. Of course, Isaiah's interest was piqued. After downloading, he was met with a sleekly-designed page, and a popup detailing the Pride Month sale.
He perused the prices before getting his hopes up, and his jaw dropped. "$1,500 is the cheapest option?" He thought to himself. It was a random reset, with the only chance to influence it being that of the intake survey. The survey had been brought back after resets performed under a previous update proved to cause anomalies to spring up, such as people randomly getting memories of their old lives back. "What if I become Chris?" A chill went down his spine at the thought of becoming his childhood bully. He noticed that he could answer the intake survey for free, and thought that there wasn't any harm in just trying it out.
>Would you like to start? Yes. >Please answer each question on a scale of "Strongly Disagree" to "Strongly Agree." Ensure all answers are as honest as possible.
He carefully answered the questions, understanding the gravity of the choice he was about to make. Wanting to avoid even the narrow possibility of getting Chris, he deliberately answered questions to steer the results as far away from him. Soon, he got to Question 35.
>Question 35: I want to change my life.
Isaiah hesitated. It was true that he wanted a fresh start, but this started to seem a little...extreme. He would lose his family, his friends, even his memories. This was set to be the biggest decision of his life, and he needed to decide now. He only had $1,700 in his account, and this was the last day of the sale. It was now or nothing. He knew there was no going back after this, and so he clicked "Strongly Agree." Payment options sprang up, and Isaiah transferred all of his graduation money into his account, knowing he wouldn't need money as Isaiah if he wasn't Isaiah anymore. The process seemed so simple, and a confirmation code appeared shortly after.
The signature blue pill arrived just a week later. He rushed to the mailbox to get it before his parents checked, and hid the box under his pillow. His mind raced with thoughts, spanning from worry at who he would become, to hope at the possibility of what could come. Somehow, he made it through the day without drawing unwanted attention from his parents. Sneaking up to his room after dinner, Isaiah said a silent prayer as he took the pill, hoping for better days.
His prayers were answered, because better days were here. He was now Jayden Johnson, a 24 year old influencer from Atlanta, Georgia. Jayden was a gymbro to the max, endowed with a big dick, and rich as hell. Reflecting on Jayden's memories, Jayden's parents seemed to have died when he was little, but left him and his older brother, Jeremiah, with a massive inheritance. Despite the hardship of losing his parents, Jayden's life was never one of struggle. He had his own place, and seemed to be extremely successful. It was a Monday, so Isaiah had jsut one week to spend as Jayden, before the option to switch back would be revoked permanently.
Quickly getting his bearings of the situation he found himself in, he realized he was on a boat, a very big boat. His memory was foggy, but this was common, as ResetR themselves state that recent memories may be less clear than more concrete ones from the past. Nevertheless, the entire night was euphoric, with alcohol being passed around as if it was water. Somehow, he managed the rest of the night without drawing any sideways glances. He got on his new phone, and looked through Jayden's socials. It looked like he was on a trip to Miami, and he was set to come back in a day. Determined to enjoy his last moments on vacation, he downloaded Grindr and went on the prowl. One thing led to another, and Jayden found himself in the middle of a threesome, a welcome start to this new life of his. It was all Isaiah could have asked for and more.
After the best vacation of his life, Jayden returned home. He was already reveling in this new life, and wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. However, his return home would be the ultimate test. Little did Jayden know, but Jeremiah was far, far closer to his little brother than Isaiah could have anticipated, even with full knowledge of their history together.
Jeremiah, took him out to dinner to celebrate getting a new job as a mechanical engineer. The two began to catch up with one another. Jayden seemed to navigate things perfectly, ordering things that Jayden would have, and bringing up past memories in order to ensure Jeremiah stayed off of his trail. After dinner, Jayden paid for them both, surprising Jeremiah. "Dang, you're paying? I guess social media really does pay bank!" The two laughed at the remark, and Jayden looked into his brother's eyes with genuine joy, as he never thought he would have a brother, let alone one he could laugh like this with. Jeremiah returned to his place, and Jayden drove back to his apartment. It was a rare night for Jeremiah, as he wasn't used to his brother, the little scamp who seemed to terrorize his life, somehow seemed to have his act together. Jeremiah knew something was up, he just didn't know what.
That night, Jayden and Jeremiah went to a huge party, held by one of Jayden's influencer friends, Mikey. It was the event of the summer; the house was packed with people, from supermodels to superstars. Jeremiah snuck off into the crowd, and in what seemed like seconds, he was grinding against a girl. Jayden could only smirk, as he was free to do whatever he wanted. Since the swap, Jayden had started flirting with Mikey, who readily accepted his advances. Tonight was the night he took it to the next level. He searched for Mikey, who was surrounded by groupies. Taking charge, he pulled him from the crowd. Mikey blushed as he excused himself, "You must really be feeling me to be acting like this." Mikey said. Jayden led Mikey into a secluded balcony, "I had to make things real, texts and videos weren't enough." In a flash, the two were touching on one another. Mikey's shirt came off, and Jayden seemed to instinctively kiss over his body, sending waves of heat through him. The moment was about to heat up further, just as Jeremiah walks out, joint in mouth. He looks over to his side, where he notices Jayden and Mikey.
"You're gay?" Jeremiah said incredulously. Jayden's blood ran cold. Did he forget to select gay during the survey? Was this all it for him? The life he had just gotten to enjoy was about to be thrown into turmoil, and all because he didn't pay enough attention. Jayden turned around to face Jeremiah, just as Mikey scurried inside. This was the moment where everything could fall apart. Jayden, staring down his older brother, replies, "So what if I am?" The response cracks Jeremiah's bluster, and Jayden lets the tension hang in the air. "Bro, I didn't mean anything by it, I just...thought you trusted me enough to tell me something like that." As if he was reaching back to his life as Isaiah, Jayden said, "Family can break your heart in the worst ways. I wanted to be sure before I told you." Suddenly, everything made sense to Jeremiah. This was the reason why Jayden had been so suspicious at dinner. "I'm sorry you felt like you had to hide it, I'll always love you dude, no matter what." Tears welled in both of their eyes as the silence lingered in the air. Without a second thought, Jeremiah embraced Jayden, with an unspoken "I love you too," being communicated in this tender moment.
Just a few days later, Jayden had fully came into his new life. Now he was living with Mikey, his new boyfriend, and the two were quickly becoming social media darlings; with their shared page amassing 250k followers in an instant. The final day the swap was here, far faster than Jayden anticipated. He spent the morning with Mikey, before having a blur of a day with friends, and grabbing lunch with Jeremiah. The joy he was experiencing couldn't assuage his uncertainty, as he still thought to the permanence of abandoning life as Isaiah. In spite of this, he was going to have the best time of his life if this was to be his last day. Returning home, the day reached its crescendo, as Mikey returned home as well. Clothes were strewn about the house, marking every moment as the two reached the bedroom. Mikey straddled Jayden, and the two went round after round, Jayden somehow knowing every spot to hit to make Mikey moan for him.
After their night of limitless passion, Mikey was sleeping peacefully in Jayden's arms. This was a life, a world that he could have only dreamed of as Isaiah, but it was now his reality. Despite this, thoughts of his old life still clouded his mind, even in his best of moments. A twinge of guilt hit him as he wondered about the fate of Isaiah after the reset. Going onto the app, he accessed his old account as Isaiah, where his question was immediately answered. Isaiah was listed on the server, but with a timer counting down from 00:01:11, in addition, there was a single green button above it with the word SWAP. It was about a minute to midnight. If Jayden did not switch back, Isaiah would be switched out. It seemed that this system was the backbone of ResetR's service, as a swap guaranteed a new person to upload to the server. Jayden looked down at Mikey, who looked as serene as ever, and then back at the timer, watching it tick down to zero.
Before he lost all memory of his life before becoming Jayden, he logged on his old Apple account, making sure to leave a 5 star review for ResetR.
Happy Pride Month!!!
