Visitor & The All The Choices We've Made-verse

I don't think I've actually ever made a post of all of the Visitor-related fics, so here it is, inspired by the anon from the other day. All links are AO3 links, although all fics can also be found on my blog with a little digging.

I just finished your fics Resident and Visitor and they are magnificent!!! The show itself can never be that good in MS characterizations. You wrote this before seeing the revival right? Do you think Mulder and Scully in the revival diverted from your visions of them when you wrote these two fics?

Oh, thank you so much!  I’m so glad you enjoyed it and that they sounded like themselves to you.  I wrote Visitor last year before the revival (I think I finished it in October) and then tried not to let the revival influence my retelling in Resident.  I definitely think the show had them in a different place than my story, though they sort of started out in a similar situation.  I like to think my story had a more consistent and logical emotional arc.  Maybe the revival would have had that too if they hadn’t rearranged the episode order, or if they’d dealt with the breakup directly.

Wow!! Just saw you have posted the last chapter of Resident!! Thank you so much! Now I can start reading it. All these time of avoiding that fic I want to read so bad is gone!! I just can't wait to get off work so that I can dive striaght in!! ❤

Fic: Visitor and Resident (complete)

Both stories are now completed, at thirteen chapters apiece.  They can be read separately or together in either order.  Visitor is available on AO3 or on Tumblr via the visitor chat tag.  Resident is available on AO3 or on Tumblr via the resident chat tag.  Both can be downloaded via AO3 for e-readers or your own personal archives.

You. Are. So. Talented. I can't even... Among many other things, I love the way you describe Scully's small thrills and secret emotions during various moments of their conversation, like how there's a tiny part of her that DOES want him to say he's changung for her. When I read Visitor, I as the reader felt those emotions on behalf of her, but she's our pure, stoic, noble Scully and so I couldn't tell what she was really feeling below the surface. Turns out... Dana Scully, she's just like us.

Oh, thank you!  I feel like a lot of people felt that way about Visitor and I just really wanted to show Scully’s humanity in Resident.  What a lovely compliment :)

I just want to say thanks for being so wonderful. You have inspired a lot of people to write and you deserve all the snaps for that. And also...a part of me may actually die when you finish Resident.

Everyone else did the hard work of actually writing, so they deserve all the snaps too!  But I am glad if I inspired anybody.

I admit I’ve kind of been putting it off.  I want it to be done, but I don’t want it to be over (and I’ve been sick and busy and tired, but those are all just excuses).
