YEAH so the mold in 7 (and kinda 8 but 8 focuses more on the cadou parasite which. is made of mold. YKNOW) isnt all that explained but *personally* i think it spreads by bloodborne contact (ie ethans hand being cut off) OR by injesting it (the bakers feeding people rotted food and margeurite losing her shit when ethan doesnt eat it). BUT YEAH it takes control of the host BUT only after breaking down mental barriers via hallucinations. the whole point of the mold is to "turn enemies into allies".
in 7 the stakes are finding his wife mia, in 8 its finding his baby rose. SO CORRECT.
ethan gets hurt so often holy hell. i could make a whole post of how often ethan gets severely wounded in these games my god.
