That’s a Brazilian song of resistance, written during the hard years of dictatorship in Brazil (1964 to 1985). Last Sunday we remember the day when 55 years ago the tanks occupied the streets, the Congress was locked and the democratic president (João Goulart) was forced to leave the country. That was the day that last 20 years of persecution, torture, and murdering of hundreds of people who tried to resist and fought against tyranny and absolutism. The actual Brazilian president - also known as the Brazilian Trump - asked people to “celebrate” this date with the colours of Brazilian flag (green and yellow). Instead, thousands of Brazilians around the word demonstrate in BLACK that we resist and we’ll never celebrate murders and torturers. To avoid all reactions the coward president did runaway - as usual - in a last minute diplomatic trip to Israel! Each one of us, in different ways, the way we can, we’ll resist against this new form of fascism. We’ll resist!!! We definitely will!!!!! 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻 #resistneofascism #elenão #elenunca #ditaduranuncamais #lulalivre #mariellepresente #quemmatoumarielle #chicobuarque #gilbertogil #mpb #brazil #gullicci (at Montreal, Quebec) https://www.instagram.com/p/BvwNxPEAadl/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=vhh46as7loye
