This video explains step by step how to specify a resistor. Also the influence of different resistor properties on the performance is explained. Examples of resistor specification parameters are resistance value, tolerance, power rating, temperature coefficient, voltage coefficient, noise, pulse rating, load stability etc. These parameters describe the influence on the circuit design, but of course also the mounting conditions and terminations need to be selected correctly.
