Hiii!!! I just found your blog and really liked it! So here is my question: my mom is french but I don't know French. In our trips to France, I feel really bad because I barely understand people. My mother tongue is not English but sources to learn a language are better and a lot in English. What should I do? I want to ask you a lot of things tho, can I message you??
I learned at school,so it was easier to build a foundation of basic/lower intermediate knowledge inFrench. However, you can find some resources online (like you said, usually inEnglish). You can find and make vocabulary lists using a website and app calledQuizlet, and put that into practice using the website and app Duolingo, anddepending on your language, you may not have to learn French in English.Lingvist is also a good choice for reading and listening practice, as well as notes on grammar. Another thing: you could find out if you have an Alliance Francaise in your area. They’re an organization thatfocuses on teaching people about France, both in terms of language and culture,so if it’s close and your parents are okay with it (it can be quite expensive: $475 CAD for 4 months), you canpossibly take lessons there as well. I’m also thinking of making a post about acouple of things soon, now that I’m on holiday! Lastly, I made 2 posts regarding resources long ago; they’re under the tag #resourcesbyme! They talk more about the pros and cons, as well as other apps/websites. Feel free to send me a message!
